HISTORY - The Crane family moved in
Tippecanoe in 1879, soon after their young son died. The boy had a large
brown dog that grieved itself to death. Mr Crane had a replica of the
pet made and placed by the boys grave. It stood in Maple Hill Cemetery
until being moved to the Crane farm. The iron dog remains on private
property and is an important part of Tipp City history.
